What could you do in a year?

What could you accomplish if you practiced something for 365 days?

How far could you go if you did something for an hour a week, for 52 weeks in a row?

8,760 hours. 52 weeks. 365 days. 1 year.

I found myself thinking about structured long-term goals this week. Specifically the college education system. An undergraduate degree is broken down into 4 years, with a course load the match every single semester. There are detailed course swaps and alternatives, there are student mentor’s, teaching assistants, and of course your advisor, to help guide you every step of the way. Essentially, all a student has to do is show up, work hard, and of course, pay the bill.

More impressively, and the point of the thought this week, is that it is largely accepted that an undergraduate degree takes 4 years. That this singular credential is going to be a 4 year commitment.

We almost never question why it takes 4 years. We just get right into the execution of the process.

Why can’t we do the same with our health and fitness goals?

What could you accomplish in the long-term? What could you accomplish if you planned out every step of the way, if you built a support team around you, if you had an advisor to talk through your actions? What if you had cleaver swaps built in along the way to help accommodate changes?

What if you had it all laid out so that you only had to show up and execute?

Just imagine what you could accomplish in a year.

Have a great week everyone.

You got this,
