3 Things Other People Wrote- Volume 5

It’s that time of the week again!

Honestly, in my head I just said ‘HUMP DAY’ but that would be a bold-faced lie.

It’s time to share the three things other people wrote that I just absolutely ADORED this week!

On Training…

As someone who spends 75% of his day working with high school athletes, this podcast by Brett Bartholomew and Matt Bersch on the Art of Coaching podcast hit home. I feel that physical development for ages 12-16 is the hardest, yet most rewarding, time in an athletes development. Check this pod out- it’s solid!

On Business…

In my morning musing I came across this article on the Harvard Business Review about managing when the future is uncertain. It hit hard with managing many aspects of a commercial gym and a lot of the ideas put forth I have started to map out as we dive in to quarter one. I think a lot of Trainers, Managers, and Owners will find this article helps, and speaks to, life in a gym.

On nothing that has to do with either…

Okay, I’m cheating this week. In first edition of this weekly post I featured The Corp Podcast’s interview with Kobe Bryant- because it was awesome! This week I am sharing their interview with internet and business icon, GaryVee. Honestly, I think GaryVee’s rah-rah advice is lacking in a few practical areas and most of his ‘content’ is outrageous propaganda geared towards taking advantage of impressionable young people.

So why share this podcast episode? Great question…He actually sounds like a normal human and gives some great insight without the ‘showing off’ mentality. Leave it to Dan Katz, who is more ridiculous than most, to cut through the bullshit and bring out some real information.
